Hanna Stamps is releasing 4 new sets on Friday (Thursday at 9 PM if you're on the west coast like me). Teacher Hanna is one of the new sets. Isn't she cute?! I stamped my image, chose my patterned paper, and colored Hanna in coordinating colors using copic markers. Then, I made all my layers and sewed everything together. I added silver brads, ribbon, and a tag to finish it off.
We'll have our release party Thursday night at 9 PM Est. There's always lots of fun, so be sure to join us.
Off topic question for you: What makes you comment on a blog? I'm curious because some days I might get 400 hits and 4 comments. I'm not complaining, just curious.

Patterned Paper: Afternoon Tea (SU!)

Hi Niki! Okay, I ALWAYS read your blog and I don't think I've ever commented, but that's the way it is with all the blogs I read. I'm not sure why other than a lot of times I don't know what to say or, I'd just be repeating what someone else has written. I am always in awe of everything you create and love visiting your blog on a daily basis! I'll have to work on commenting more on your blog and others I read. I commented this time because I just HAD to answer your question! Happy Monday!!
Hi Niki! First of all, I love this card you did with the new stamp. You are so talented.
I get the same thing on my blog. Some days are better than others. If you find out the secret, let me know. I comment on just about every blog I visit. I enjoying giving and receiving comments.
I usually comment when i have a question about something posted (what was used, how something was done, what product was used, etc), if there is a chance for blog candy, or if a question was asked (like you did!). Most of the time, I just browse, taking notes on cool cards or LOs! Keep up the great work!
Hey Niki. I am awful because I hardley ever post comments on blogs. I think it because I read so many blogs but use my google reader so I don't have time to comment on every blog. I figure this is the case with my blog to since I know a lot of people use it. Love you sneak peek!!
Hi Niki,
Your blog is one of my favorites. I don't always post because I am a reader. I don't get a lot of posts on my blog, but from my number counter, I can see that a lot of people are reading it. To answer your question, why post or why not? If someone has posted something very nice and has very few comments, I make sure that I leave a comment.
Good question--time is usually a factor for me. (If I had more time I'd probably comment on every blog I visit.)
Many times I comment because something the blogger says strikes a chord with me, other times it's because they've shown me a new technique/product that I'm excited about, and sometimes I comment just to say "hi".
Great card! I only read a few blogs on a regular basis because of time but I was commenting a lot more before. Anyway, your blog is amazing and I really enjoy it. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the Teacher Hanna set.
Oh Niki - I just love her and your card is so inspiring! Fab coloring, sewing, the piercingand the way you hung the sentiment is just the perfect detail!
Forgot to answer your question...if I visit a blog I'll leave a comment. I just think for me it's like seeing someone on the street that you know or even recognize and acknowling them that you see them. Does that make sense?
I also read your blog fairly often and don't usually comment unless like today you ask a guestion or I have a guestion. I am a visual learner so I love your tutorials!I am a newbie to cardmaking, stamping etc.. so I find your blog very educational. Thank you for sharing your creations.
HI! I love the cards you make! Sorry I don't leave a comment every time I visit though. Mainly it because of time. I usually look through the blog sites I have signed up for at work and I have time to look but not usually time to comment. But great job on your teacher card!!! I saw a sneak of the Hanna Hula girl on Kendra's blog. I am anxious to see what the other sets are of!!!!! TFS!

Hey Niki. I love the teacher Hanna, especially since I'm a teacher. Regarding the comments thing, when you figure it out, let me know :). I think it has to do with people quickly going through blogs. I try to make comments but I know I don't do it every time. Of course, if it's something like a Blog Hop, I comment on all of the blogs. I think it's human nature, nowadays anyway, to just race through everything and not stop to comment. I'm not really sure though, like I said, when you find an answer, let me know :).
Cute card! I comment when I like the card. I know how much love goes into making a card! I like receiving comments, so I'm sure other people like comments too!
Hi Niki! Yet another great card! I work full time (often 10-12 hour days) and am so exhausted by the time I get home, that I just love to peruse blogs. So, if I'm going to comment, it will usually be on the weekend, and as a couple of others have said, it's generally in response to a question. Your blog is on my list to look at everyday as you are one of my stamping idols! I hope you have a great day. Heather (HMJ)
Hi Niki! I have to say I love your blog and read it every day! I love all the cards you make and you inspire me to be creative! As far as leaving comments, I guess I should. I have been challenging myself to leave comments on splitcoast when I really like a card, because I know how much I like comments. I need to do that with blogs also - so I am sorry. But I do love all your work.
By the way before I close - your teacher card is fabulous (and I will try to do better to encourage you :)!
I love this card and I had to post mostly because I was curious. Your teacher looked African American and we are too and I was wondering what color you used for her skin. I like the new perspective. Its cool to see how other people use stamps and I really like that I can make them fit in more with my needs as well. But I always check out your blog and I love it. Now I am scouring the net for ideas on how to use my new threading water punch.
i read all of my blogs in a feed reader, so i get lazy and don't comment, which is easy to do since i'm a bit shy...but a specific question will get me to comment, like this one...or some amazing technique...there are a few blogs that i always comment on, but they are personal friends
i do love how you've colored hanna, that MAY have gotten a comment out of me LOL
WOW I love this card!!!
That is an amazing card!!!!! And a total Hanna-must have!!! Awesome coloring job! I always love seeing your creations!

I am a faux poster and commenter. I tend to start to write posts/comments and then erase them because I get... well kind of shy I guess, if that makes any sense at all. I try to leave leave comments a lot but I takes me forever to do it because I dont want to sound dumb so I read and reread and then rewrite it. Even this comment has been re-written like 5 times. I know I have issues. Who knows maybe there are more like me out there :) Lets hope not! See now I sound dumb. :)
Love the card BTW. -Molly B
I LOVE her!!! How awesome and perfect for so many who inspire us!!!
I try to keep up with over 100 blogs....and yours is on my Google Reader....occasionally I get too behind, but I usually try to comment a few times a week!!! And you are soooooo creative and so sweet......I think it's a matter of folks being too busy and just scanning blogs.......but you ROCK and are definitely one of my stamping inspirations!!!!
I typically post whenever I see something I really like, or when there's a question posed... like today! BTW... that card is rockin! Awesome stamp set! Hopefully I'll get to the release party on Thursday.
NIKI -
I love LOVE LOVE your cards... I love your blog... I am a stalker though, I only come and look and read and then leave... rarely leaving comments on anyone's blogs because I figure A.) No one really cares what I have to say. Because I don't ever have anything important to say. B.) I tend to comment more on blogs that don't get a lot of comments... and since you have a huge following I leave it to the others to say what I am thinking. C.) I really think about the blogger, I don't want to inodate (*spelling?) with comments. I never get comments on mine! But 400 "Great cards" would get old for me to read!
Muah, great card - I am not black but it's great to see a card that has a different skin tone!
Tyically I comment if I have seen something "different". For instance, an awesome new set that I MUST have. Or a new technique that I haven't seen before. Or if it's something personal (like when I really thought you should have been a PTI designer...and then you became one)!!
I don't get many comments on my blogs...my close friends email me...can't seem to understand the comment thing either!!
Wow! First of all, this card is AWESOME! Second of all, how have I not EVER seen your blog before now?! I love it! Your cards are great!
Good morning, Niki! I look at your blog every morning, while drinking coffe, and find that time is is a factor because there are so many talented crafters I want to check out everyday. Another reason is having to type the word verification; I could simply type a comment without having to check or complete sections, it would be much easier. Your work is absolutely wonderful and your blog is saved as one of my must look favorites each day. Keep up the beautiful and inspirational work and remember that there are so many other crafters who wish they were as talented as you, which includes me...ha ha
Wow!! Fabulous...I love this stamp...and your papers and sewing is Gorgeous!!
What makes me comment?..Beautiful creations...Awesome Tutorials and wonderful ideas....sometimes someone feeling sad..or ill....Commenting is sharing and what a Wonderful way to make some great friends.......Hugs, Ila
619chrisHi Niki - Add me to another fan of yours. I really do enjoy your work and I'm glad I "found" you through PTI.
About the 'comments'. Here's my take on why I don't always comment:
First, I wish I had the time. I can barely get through my favorite blogs, emails, and SCS - let alone post a comment.
Second, I really don't care for the "word verification" on the comments. I know it's necessary but I find them to be a pain. (I'm sorry.) Half the time I get them wrong or on Typepad especially, I start doing the letters only to find that my curser wasn't in the right place and I have to do it all over again.
And lastly, I just feel like I'm just repeating what everyone else has said. (oh, and I sometimes forget my blogger password.)
Now, on the flip side, I probably should comment. You (and others) take the time to blog and it would probably be common courtesy and well, just a nice thing to do, even if it's more often than not. I will leave a comment for a particular question, blog candy, or something new, or if I have the extra time that day.
What ever the reasons, I hope you and the others keep blogging and sharing what you love. I love seeing what you all are up to, what you're creating, seeing new releases, etc.
Thanks... for all you do!
Hugs,
Renee
I read alot but only comment when I have alot of time. Sometimes there is just something I HAVE to comment on, like if someone asks a question, or if a card is super gorgeous, or something is really funny. The rest of the time its just a matter of how much time I have.
I will comment if the blogger asks a question that I'd like to answer (like you just did) or if I really LOVE a project or technique. BUT a lot of it has to do with time - I browse a LOT of blogs and unfortunately don't always have time to comment, but I do try to comment every so often just to make sure the blogger knows I'm reading and hopefully that conveys the fact that I appreciate what they're putting out there!!
Niki, what a beautiful card--great details! Commenting on blogs--hmmmmm. . . for me it's mostly a matter of time. If I look, I try to comment. But a lot of the time, it's either make something to post OR blog-surf. Your work is fabulous!
VERY CUTE!! Love your colors here--and the layout is nice too. Great stamp...great card!!
