Papertrey Ink: Quilter's Sampler

The Papertrey Ink release party was so much fun last night! Thank you all for your sweet comments and encouragement. You all are the best!! I'm going to spread my samples out over this week and at the end of the week, I have a tutorial for you. Today, I'm sharing my Quilter's Sampler creations. This set has so many different possibilities and directions you can go with it and the sentiments are just great (there's even a second sentiment set if you need more sentiments).

This card was the last thing I made for the release. Somewhere along the way, I thought it would be fun to stamp the quilt images on patterned paper. I love how it looks! It makes a great pattern and part of the coloring is done for you. I stamped the images and then colored the centers of the white and pink pattern blocks. I inked the edges of all the pieces and the other elements by just sliding them along the Dark Chocolate ink pad. I think this ended up being my favorite thing I made with the Quilter's Sampler sets.

I thought it would be fun to make some type of gift using the set as well. I took a couple of those cheap little sewing kits you can get just about anywhere (I've gotten them at Walmart and a dollar store.). I added thread, needles, and a thimble. The nugget tins hold about one and half of those sewing kits. Then, I stamped a grid using Guide Lines. This made it easy to line up my quilt blocks. I stamped my blocks on spring moss cardstock. This was another way of having some of the coloring of the blocks already completed. I went back and colored some of the squares with a purple copic marker similar to plum pudding (sorry, I did not note what marker I used.) I added a mat and some stitching to complete the cardstock wrap that went around the tin. Then, I created a tag, stitched around the edge, added an eyelet and button and tied it around the tin using plum pudding stitched ribbon.

Here's a closeup of the tag. I like the little extra the stitching around the tag adds.

For this card, I wanted to create the look of a quilt. I stamped guide lines first and then stamped the quilt squares. I colored the squares and then distressed the edge of the mat to make it look like a worn quilt. The sentiment I chose was "Hoping you're on the mend" and I wanted to make it look similar to a quilt needing mending.
Here you can see the mending in one corner of the quilt. I wanted to make it look like the quilt was mended (though not properly ).

Have a great day and I will be back tomorrow with more of my samples for the release!

Although your cards are all wonderful, I have to say that your first quilt block card is fantastic!! The stamping on patterned paper was a great idea and just made the card.
