Baby Binky Bag

I found this great patterned book (Winsome Baby by Nancy Halvorsen) with lots of baby things and decided to make a binky bag. No laughing at my stitching around the applique!! I don't recommend the first time you sew a bag for it to be this small!! I definitely need some practice, but it turned out pretty cute anyway.

I love using the iron ons on fabric and since I learned I could stamp on them and color then with copic markers, I can't seem to stop! I stamped the boat from Bitty Baby Blessings on an iron on transfer, colored it with copic markers, cut it out, and iron it onto a piece of white cloth. Then, I created my bag using the pattern in the book.

After I made the binky bag, I needed a little 3x3 card to go with it. I stamped the boat on white cardstock and cut it out using a nestability die. I colored it with copic markers and then masked the boat and sprayed the background using an air compressor. I did this while the cardstock circle was still in the die. This left me with a white bordered when I removed the die. I added a soft sky mat, ribbon, and a sentiment to complete my card.

Have a great day!

Recipe
Stamps: Bitty Baby Blessings (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: noir (Palette)
Cardstock: white (Papetrey Ink), soft sky (SU!)
Accents: soft sky ribbon (SU!)
Tools: nestability dies, copic markers, air compressor, iron on transfer
Other: fabric, sewing machine, blue thread, pattern book

I love it Niki! What a perfect gift for a summer baby.

So they Copics on iron-ons go on smooth and last through the laundry? I had been using direct to fabric stamping and fabric markers, but one mistake and the garment is done and the fabric markers bled alot more then I liked.

What a cute little idea. I'm getting into this sewing thing too and I made a diaper rag for the PTI contest with the iron on transfers too. I really like them and they are so easy to use. Thanks for sharing all of your ideas.
