This hugs for you!

Last week, I decided it was time to stamp with some stamps that I bought bus hadn't gotten around to using yet. I love these little monkey stamps by CC Designs at All That Scraps. I also decided to use my prismacolor pencils for this card (but it'll be the last one because I sold them last week because I just prefer my copic markers).

I started my card by cutting out a circle using one of my nestability dies and stamping my image. Then, I colored my monkey using prismacolor pencils and canola oil.

My layers are pretty self explanatory. That has me thinking. Do you prefer it when I explain every little detail about how I made the card or is it enough with the recipes? I would love to know which everyone prefers.

Have a great Memorial Day if you're in the US and a great day if you're not!

Recipe
Stamps: Monkey Love (CC Designs)
Cardstock: close to cocoa, creamy caramel, soft sky (SU!), white stamper's select (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: DCWV
Accents: soft sky ribbon (SU!)
Tools: prismacolor pencils, swiss dots embossing folder, nestability dies

That is a great card! I think an explanation is only necessary when you are showing us something that may be difficult to decipher or out of the ordinary. Thanks for all you do!

What an adorable card! I agree that it is pretty self explanatory and just creates more work for you to list everything. Just explain the difficult or unique things!

I do love it when bloggers list their copics though. I am going to start buying copics this week (individually) and it really helps me decide which ones I need!

Recipes are fine. I do however have a question about using canola oil? I have never heard of this. I have just started using gamsol does it work in a simular way? thanks....for all that you bring I read every post!

Niki,

Cute card. I don't know how you parted with your Prismas I LOVE mine. My DH and sons gave me the mega pack for Mom's Day.. It's taking forever to sharpen them all..

cute card Niki. Most of the time I think the recipe is sufficient unless there is something special or unusual with the layers or the card then an explanation would be helpful. I have this same dp so it is nice to see how you used it and get another idea. Love your blog and I generally check in with ya daily.

I love how you colored the monkey, it is so cute! I have been using my prisma pencils more lately, of course I don't have any copics yet!

Great card! It depends on how experienced you are I guess. I haven't been stamping long so am interested in all the details. tfs

I just love this card. I may have to go buy this stamp now. Plus I love that paper.
I have the Prismas but have never used them for this. I actually had to buy them for an art class in junior high and have never parted with them!
I agree that an explanation is only necessary when something is out of the ordinary or difficult or doesn't necessarily show well in photos, though I still love the recipe!
